Choose Between Depending on the Market or Depending On Yourself

If ever there was any reason for taking a serious look at personal and local self-reliance, here it is: stock markets and mega corporations are structured in such a way that they are not directly connected to a true free market. Their sheer size, and the psychological, as opposed to rational, decisions that are made in stock markets where “mood” is not related to hard facts, means that when something bad happens, when one or a few people game the system or abuse the system, billions of individuals can be impacted.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are two publically owned companies that get government subsidies in the form of lower intereste on their infusion of magic money from the government, giving them an unfair advantage in the mortgage lending business. This video clip sums it up succinctly.
