Obamania and the Psychology of Fear and Guilt

On the lighter side of politics and for the fence-dwellers, here’s a rather good “who’s your ideal candidate?”.

In the bubbling cauldron of campaign passion a number of writers have taken a more contemplative attitude, analyzing the psychology behind Obamania that has taken the US by storm. Fouad Ajami on Wall Street Journal in “Obama and the Politics of Crowds”, subtitled “The masses greeting the candidate on the trail are a sign of great unease,” looks at the rather worrisome phenomenon of Third World style crowds.

It reminds him of what the media terms ‘the Arab Street’: “the tragedy of Arab political culture has been the unending expectation of the crowd — the street, we call it — in the redeemer who will put an end to the decline, who will restore faded splendor and greatness. (…) the faith in the Awaited One lives on, and it would forever circle the Arab world looking for the next redeemer.”

Third World style demagogy of the meaningless platitudes of ‘change’ and ‘hope’ could just as easily turn into Third Reich passionate rhetoric. After all, there is no basic difference between tribal societies and totalitarian ones. From the faintings and hysterics at the mass rallies you’d have thought the nation was decimated by famine and pestilence over the last few years!

What we see is a collection of hedonistic Narcissists, force-fed on dialectically induced self-loathing through Ayers’ educational reform. They’re simply unable to deal with the surge in cognitive dissonance as a result of their idealistic self-image as caring, generous people, that clashes with the cultivation of intense hatred, of which Bu$hitler has been the main recipient.

Of course these drones are largely Subjectivists, meaning that they’ve substituted reason with emotion as a cognitive tool. At some point they’ll find that feelings cannot guide them, but that they can experience no emotions save one: terror. To escape from its impotence they seek safety in numbers, a frantic desire to belong and attach themselves to some group, gang, clique, whatever hive.

For certain is, that the choice for Obama as the next POTUS is an emotional one, made on the basis of the dangerous potion of guilt and fear: the hope of white redemption. Policies (or lack thereof) are irrelevant to most, only few bother to rationalize their choice.

David Kupelian in “Yes, Barack Obama really is a Manchurian candidate” explains the power of guilt, of which - it must be said - Democrats, as the party of the KKK and segregation - may suffer more than - say, Evangelicals.

“(…) Americans – even though slavery and segregation are long gone from the national scene – still have a large and understandable reservoir of collective guilt over its past exploitation and mistreatment of blacks. Guilt is a fantastically powerful factor in all of our lives. (…) When we’re guilty we try to relieve this inner conflict, and this is often a good thing. (…)

Manipulative and unprincipled humans soon discover how to use our guilt to get their way. They can even make us feel guilty when we haven’t done anything wrong – for instance, by way of false accusation, a tactic the left has perfected. (…) With white voters in particular, there is a strong urge to finally move beyond our collective guilt over slavery and to prove, once and for all, that we’re not a nation beset by racism – by electing a black president.

It’s not an exaggeration to call this guilt-induced way of looking at Obama, this conditioned attitude, a type of trance. We hold him to a different standard, we see and feel (…) a desire for his success (…) all based on guilt. But love based on guilt is not real love. It’s just an unconscious attempt to rid ourselves of guilt. Shelby Steele, author of “White Guilt: How Blacks and Whites Together Destroyed the Promise of the Civil Rights Era,” puts it this way: “[Americans] struggle, above all else, to dissociate themselves from the past sins they are stigmatized with.” (…)

Did you ever get angry at your kids – and then find yourself “being nice” to them to make up for the guilt of having been impatient? With that in mind, consider just one of many ways guilt (in this case, racial guilt) can find its way into you: Let’s say you’re walking down the street and a group of black men are walking toward you, and you become fearful (very similar to the story Obama famously told about his white grandmother). That fear has a little resentment attached to it, for that’s the nature of fear. But when you become resentful for any reason at all, you automatically incur guilt, because resentment is a wrong, failing way for mature human beings to respond to the stresses of life.

Now, saddled with this new guilt associated with black people, a compulsion rises up from within you to make up for that guilt – which you do by discovering a mysterious affinity for black people that wasn’t there before. But that “love” isn’t real love – it’s all rooted in guilt and resentment (just like when you got impatient with your kids, then suddenly became “nice” to them to compensate for your anger). Although my example here centers on race, this guilt principle is universal. (…) read it all, also why Barack Obama really is the Manchurian candicate >>> (read also “Who Sent Obama?”).

As some would have it (and it makes sense) the MSM have made a reckless choice by putting all their cards on a “monolithic, single-party government [which] will crush the alternative media via a revived Fairness Doctrine, re-invigorate unions by getting rid of secret votes, and just maybe, be beholden to people like you in the traditional media for getting it there”.

But once the ideology driven collective unfolds, perhaps they’ll realize too late how much they’ve got to answer for. In an age of indoctrination induced self-loathing dictators rise because men do not know their own course, and values have no means to resist his promises and demands. A nation does not learn from disaster, it only does from discovering its cause.

Let us call it a day by drawing attention to the activities of a fellow Objectivist, a great campaigner for the Jewish and American cause …

America’s Sick Care Crisis: Are Your Kidding Me?

William Collier American Freedomist Network

Tricia Cunningham, host of The American Freedomist Network’s “BlogTalkRadio” Show “Are You Kidding Me” (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/AreYouKiddingMe) , internationally known diet guru and long time advocate for health care reform that is NON-Partisan, not just “bipartisan”, will be making a major 5-day push to highlight the “Sick Care Crisis”, to offer new, out of the box insights, and to offer listeners an opportunity to ask questions and give their own insights and opinions.

This 5-day campaign will not be the end of these efforts, but during these last days of the election the real, core issues of healthcare, as opposed to “sick care” need to be addressed and exposed. Tricia Cunningham is an internationally known author, of “The Reverse Diet” (www.thereversedietclub.com) and an Advocate for The Partnership to Fight Christian Disease (http://vote.fightchronicdisease.org/).

During the debut of this new online radio program, part of the American Freedomist Network (www.americanfreedomistnetwork.com), a non-partisan network of “new media” providers, writers, bloggers, and online radio hosts, it became clear that all too many Americans have issues, questions, and needs that simply are not being addressed and whole it is easiest to focus only on the Presidential race, none of these candidates or their parties is going to solve any of the problems thy seek to solve any time soon and yet the biggest problem many American face remains a talking point issue and a political football while real solutions, that enable Americans to access healthcare instead of sick care, and that give patients the majority voice are not being discussed.

Cunningham likes to ask, “when was the last time you went into your doctor’s office and were told exactly how much they were going to charge for the visit?” These common sense, insightful questions mark her approach apart from all other approaches and make her a unique voice that is WELL WORTH paying attention to.

For listeners who may be expecting to hear a “liberal” or “conservative” point of view, Cunningham is a refreshing novelty: one can detect in her ideas the spirit of 1776 perhaps, but not any partisan leanings and while partisans who wish to USE “health care” as an issue may be disappointed in this non-partisan approach individuals who struggle with these issues will find a voice that sounds suspiciously like their own voice.

The show URL is here:

Here is the description of the show by Tricia Cunningham herself:

“We are ALL effected by Chronic Disease whether our own, a loved one

, or a friend suffering the hardships of care and financial burden of health care. Without the education, prevention and management, our Sick Care Crisis is here to stay. Are You Kidding Me? NO! If you are feeling overwhelmed, have questions, and searching for resources then call in and share your story, chat with others, and GET ANSWERS! This 5 part series will be a real awakening! You won’t believe the story I have to tell!”

Pomo Obama for Justice

Mary Grabar’s post on PJM’s “How Critical Race Theory Molded Obama” tells of Subjectivism and how it is applied to the field of justice. Obama, it would appear, is full of it … “at least by his teaching and academic background” as a student of Professor Derrick Bell, to which we might add, and by the company he keeps.

Grabar cites the infamous Duke lacrosse rape case as an illustration of things to come.

It wakes us up how closely related Postmodernism is to Nazism and Marxism - in fact, to all forms of Socialism. All stem from the same branch of thinking. That, of the anti philosopher Immanuel Kant, who sought to fashion a form of philosophy that could deal with the contradictions that emerge, when applying reason to religion. In the process he achieved the most earth shattering feat in the history of thought: he perverted all three, religion, philosophy and reason.

As Grabar’s post shows, Postmodernism is directly opposed to the philosophy of America’s Founding Fathers. Which once again stresses how iconic the essentially neutral term of Change may be for an Obama tenure. Shocked? You should be. People do not know ten percent of the vileness of Subjectivism, which is responsible for all measure of pomo vice, from moral equivalence to the personal attack.

- Caption: Postmodern revisionism by “The People’s Cube” -

You’ll also be surprised how racist Critical Race Theory is. How pernicious and typical to Postmodernism it is, can be gauged from the Wiki: the theory states to oppose “the continuation of all forms of subordination,” whereas its basic premises lead to precisely that.

Welcome in the wonderful world of Subjectivism. It centers around the anti modernist approach to ‘logic’, which thrives on contradiction. Hegel referred to his work with the Orwellian term, ‘New Reason’.

As opposed to “all men are created equal” or “in God’s image,” applying the same standard to all no matter the person or the circumstances, in Subjectivist Postmodernism unequal groups are compensated in proportion to their inequality.

Apart from the absence of objective standards to ascertain how unequal a particular group is - let alone in what proportion it is to be compensated - it may be obvious to the keen observer that this is the road leading to discrimination, segregation, and Apartheid.

Grabar takes it to be Marxist, but it can be reduced much further than that. Following Kant and Hegel we see the collectivist line-up of usual suspects: Fichte, Herder, Nietzsche, Marx, the Nazi theorists, Heidegger, Foucault, Lyotard, Derrida, Marcuse, Rorty, Ayers, and now candidate Obama.

It is the road America took when it decided that blacks are so unequal, they need special rules and standards to create equality of opportunity, a Democratic pet project par excellence. This was direct action, or positive discrimination. It was supposed to be a temporary mechanism until equality was obtained, but over time it has become entrenched and is now the standard of ‘fair practice’ all over the Western world where it continues to create … inequality.

- Cartoon by Michael Ramirez -

While equality of opportunity morphed into equality of outcome, secretly a similar mechanism was being enforced: handicapping the more powerful groups by means of political correctness, which is essentially a self-censoring device acting as a redistributor of speech rights.

The redistributive mechanisms have the secondary (?) advantage of being utterly destructive to Western civilization, precisely because they chop away at the core values of individual rights and equality. Why are we surprised to hear Barack Obama talk of the redistribution of wealth when in race relations we’ve done little else but redistributing?

Multiculturalism works along the same lines, ostensibly promoting equality, but achieving the exact opposite: not mixing (melting pot) and treating people as equals, but setting them apart in protective mono-cultural tribal reservations, just like the father of Aryan race theory Gobineau and the Nazis intended. Traditionally any group member with the audacity to want out, is marked a traitor for life (see “Leftist Causes Explained”).

And now we have the most dangerous variant yet: Subjectivist justice. Think about the consequences! Hey, isn’t that a coincidence! Doesn’t that open the road to Sharia Law? To each their own legal code?

Once you leave the principle of universal equality behind, it is just as easy to go from Gobineau (race creates culture, one superior to the other) to the antisemitism of the Nazis, or the direct action of post civil rights America, or the upcoming legalization of Sharia Law in Europe.

Irrespective which race, culture or religion is seen as superior, it is still inequality: racism, sexism, ageism, Islamism, you name it. And it’s going to be the new standard for which nobody’s approval will be asked. It will be ushered in very gradually - possibly under UN auspices - and by the time someone notices, outfitted with some ‘justice’ or ‘new’ epithet.

The above shoots home that Postmodernism, a belief in subjective group ‘narratives,’ is a very dangerous philosophy (actually, it’s a fallacy). It not only holds pernicious premises, it also breads Narcissists like Ayers’ Weathermen, Pol Pot, Mao, Stalin and Hitler - pathological maniacs who are willing to sacrifice millions for the sake of their misguided ‘ideals’.

Mccain phone press conference reveals Obama/Acorn connection

Obama connection to acorn according to the mccain camp:

Just got off a press call with the mccain camp.  Here is the real nugget, ignored by the folks who were “allowed” to ask questions:

Karen Gillette, senior staffer at acorn, told Ms. Moncreate, the Acorn PA whistleblower, that she had been given a list of Obama donors who would also give to Acorn to help fund their voter registration efforts.

It is a backdoor way to fund Acorn’s registration efforts, efforts that have produced 1.3 million voter registration claims, of which only about 400,000, less than 1/3, turned out to be valid.

The questions asked in response to this?

Ron Clayborne, ABC News

Is this your only evidence, if that is what you call it….the testimony of

Mz. Moncreate?

The tone of the questioner was arrogant, smug, and in the same tone that you ask someone a question whom you KNOW is lying.

I missed the name of the second questioner, but it was from a Florida Newspaper:

Paraphrasing…..Charlie Christ says voter fraud in

Florida is overrated.  What say you?

Then a long response detailing the many instances of massive voter fraud in

Florida, none of which we’ll document here because this conference call was SUPPOSED TO BE about the PA whistleblower.

Chuck Roush from Gannet decides to ask this completely irrelevant question:

Paraphrasing- Obama has a new ad out showing Bush-Mccain mirror image.  Have you done enough to separate yourself from Bush?

The response is irrelevant, as, again this call was SUPPOSED TO BE about the PA whistleblower and acorn.

Then Michael Baron got the final question:

Paraphrasing- Your internal tracking polls seem to indicate a closing in the race…..

We won’t follow that question up either as this call was SUPPOSED TO BE about the PA whistleblower, acorn, and the deliberate coordination between Obama and Acorn to commit voter fraud.

My question I never got to ask?

Has your campaign called to task Acorn for its public claims that it was the one who brought up the voter registration card problems to the proper authorities?  We spoke with Jeff Hastings, the Cuyahoga County Chair of the Board of Elections who clearly stated that, within their county, the 15th largest voting district in the country, the largest in a pivotal state,

Ohio, no such thing occurred.

The voter registration cards were flagged by staffers.

Because the Mccain camp still sucks the teet of the Pravda media, his camp didn’t get to address a question that was relevant to their purpose for having the phone press conference in the first place,  the PA Whistleblower, acorn, and the Obamarx connection to that Marxist organization (paid for by your tax dollars, and still in line to get millions of dollars from the bailout package).

So, the news is this:

According to a top Acorn official, Mz. Moncreate (as they referred to her), she was privy to conversations with another top official in charge of the Project Vote campaign (subset of Acorn and former employer of Barack Hussein Obama), Karen Gillette, who told her that the Obama camp is “working with us”.  They gave Acorn their donor list so that Acorn could call these folks to raise money for the voter registration scam now sweeping the battleground states of

America.

The real question should have been:  Is there any evidence, such as internal memos, etc, that the Obama camp told their donors to give to Acorn to fund this illegal operation?

But intead, the mainstream press mostly ignored the story, and the one person who directly addressed it did so with derision and condescension.

This is the state of the Pravda media today.
