Freedomists To Reconsider McCain Endorsement
4. October 2008 by admin.
AFN- Harrisburg Pa. October 4, 2008
The Central Committee of the Freedomist Party of the United States of America (FPUSA) took up a motion to reconsider the Party’s endorsement of John McCain for President of the United States of America. While some members had disagreed with this endorsement originally, it was given with a proviso that unlike other endorsements in which the Party would urge members to vote for the candidate endorsed by the Party the individual party members were released from any obligation to vote for McCain to vote according to their conscience.
The motion was made by members of the Central Committee, and agreed to by the Chairman, William R Collier Jr., as a consequence of John McCain’s endorsement of what the Party refers to as “The Socialist Enabling Act of 2008” which the Party believes is not a step towards socialism but that is in fact Socialism itself.
The vote is now open and is debate has been opened with the final vote to be announced after 5Pm on Monday, October 6, 2008.
