There is something surreal about seeing Edwin Meese, John Stoseel and many of the people I grew up listening to, and admiring, a few feet from my table but some of the heavy lifters in the freedom movement, fighters from days or yore who are still engaegd in the fight, showed up at this conference to remind us of one simple thing: after we have climbed a mountain, next come more mountains.

We are always clinmbing moutnains because freedom is always being assaulted by the forces of big government and a planned economy: monarchists, communists, socialists, and community organizers from ACORN are all “of a peice” and every victory over every mountain brings us to the next mountain.

What I am thinking now, and I will talk about more, is the idea that being a citizen activist is actually what it means to be a citizen. In other words, the bard for “normal” citizenship should be set higher, the “normal” citizen should purposefyully make sure theya re well informed, should purposefully communicate with their elected rfepresentatives and their media, and should always be talking to friends, family, and neighbors about public policy issues and political candidates.

Eternal vigilance is the price we pay for freedom and in concrete terms, this means being well informed by seeking accurate information, knowing what we beleive and why, reading and re-reading the declaraiton of independence and the constitution to make sure our leaders OBEY them, and constantly communicating to our leaders, our media, and to one another about these issues.

The mountain we climbed for the cause of freedom in the Reagan Revolution has presented us with another mountain, the neeed for a new revolution in which “we are al Reagans” and after we win this next round against the Socialist squirrels we will have to go right back, the very next day, and, well, we will have to climb yet ANOTHER mountain@

An article on Yahoo!News, “On crisis, Europe to US: ‘I told you so’” chronicles the European statists’ Schadenfreude over the Obama talking point that American laissez-faire deregulation is to blame for the current financial crisis. German en French subjectivists are falling all over each other to get to the mic first and point the finger. Really?

Could it perhaps be Bill Clinton’s third way mixed economy, that forced banks to behave like ’social security outlets’ by compelling them to act in a way that is alien to their nature, i.e. eyes firmly fixed on the bottom-line, that is the architect of this fiasco? Another Social Democrats success story, Jimmy Carter laid the groundwork. John McCain warned early for the collapse, Obama says “he wrote a letter …” while he was up to his eyeballs involved in ACORN, a main contributor to the Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac scam (study the “Just Say No Deal” flow chart and weep). Or watch this short vid, “What Just Happened?”

Now that the system is blowing up, the statists (see them scramble for default position) point the finger at Capitalism, which is to blame. It is a darned gotzpah!

It’s always the same tired trick and it keeps on giving. When will we learn?! Force your ideology on a self-sustaining system and when it breaks down because of it, blame the system and shout ‘I told you so, it needs more revision and supervision! That will prevent me interfering in the future!’

Deontology does the rest for a clear conscience: our intentions are so ethical because for the common good, that we are a priori absolved for adverse consequences … the perpetual ‘get out of jail card’.

Blaming the’ fallibility’ of markets is like blaming the weather for storms. We will see much more of that: the Left are always prepared to establish the Socialist Utopia on the smoldering ruins of whatever crisis (induced or otherwise) - the reason why revolutions were incited in the first place. Entire tribes of community organizors, eh … agitators were insinuated to bring them about.

The statist is so focussed on the evil of free markets and the benevolence of the state that he cannot see what’s in front of his noses: that he and his cures are the problem. But that very thought is so alien, that it simply doesn’t occur to him.

So now he goes on pumping public money into the system in order to send a message of stability and confidence. What he is actually signaling is that the system is so broke that it needs more and more medicine.

As usual THEY and their quack remedies are the problem, not the weather! For Heaven’s sake, stop burning our money!

Believers of free people in a politeia which they own, had better be on red, hot alert the coming months. If we know our statists, they wouldn’t be half the collective they are, if they didn’t try to pull a fast one.

Folks, in honor of the candidate this post is slightly off the usual format.

Things are getting serious … the trolls are out in force, doing their worst to change the voters’ perception of reality so they will cast a ballot for The One … an example:

… visit a Republican political gathering, camera in hand, shove a mic in their faces asking some expedient question - for example “Is Obama a terrorist?” … keep soliciting and annoying the crap out of people until you meet one gullable specimen who’ll fall into the trap … then put the vid on YouTube with the title “the Republican mob is so shockingly ignorant, they don’t even know the finer points of the creed” (the Messiah, as even the most base person knows, was immaculately conceived: any reference to a father just shows deep, infathomable ignorance) … part I, part II …

… alternatively - when the opposite effect is required, shutting them up - proceed as follows: bring accusations of racism (not necessarily justified, any epithet that can be explained as a pejorative will do - works 99% of the time), or enforce self-censorship by exerting political correctness.

As the venom is spreading and toxin levels are rising - not in the last place by the unprecedented smear campaign against Sarah Palin (that being of course ‘truth to power’), the O campaign last night pressed upon the opponents to ‘tone down a notch’, implying The One is put in danger from “right-wing militia nuts”. That can be categorized per above: enforce self-censorship by exerting political correctness.

Clearly it’s time to maintain a sense of humor. Please do yourselves a favor: keep your sanity and tune in to The People’s Cube! It’ll keep things in perspective … guaranteed. An example …

As a result, his campaign has unveiled a new collection of ethnically-specific Obama logos to match each minority’s pre-approved role, legend, and grievances, in full compliance with the divide-and-conquer revolutionary doctrine developed by Antonio Gramsci and perfected by Saul Alinsky. (…) ‘It was you who made me react like that’ or ‘they deserved it’ are among the [regular methods of dealing with dissonance] (…) This filters reality to fit the self-identity and (…) why it was not their fault and not their responsibility. In short, they will protect the self-identity at all costs. (…) To overcome the negative effects of cognitive dissonance I would offer just one sentence: it’s okay not to be ‘perfect’ and it’s okay to be wrong (…) … hear, hear!

… in a word, Glenn, it’s projection! The Left cannot live up to their own superior moral standards, so what you do is project those failings on to your opponent. Watch this vid, in which some armchair psychologist is trying to make John McCain look like an angry, erratic geriatric in the perception of the audience (so glad the candidate really has the patience of an angel).

Regretfully the doc ground the diagnosis to mince-meat.
