The AFN recognizes The Ellis County Observer as the TOP NewsBlog for October 2008 and will FEATURE this News Blog on the new AFN website, [2] www.americanfreedom[3] ist.com, for the next 30 days. This recognition was earned by the Ellis County Observer for delivering on the promises of being a Watchdog, an Advocate, and a Resource and recognizes the leadership of Joey Dauben as a nationally known NewsBlogger, Citizen Journalist who sets the STANDARD that we urge others to follow.

[4] The Ellis County Observer is gaining national attention in the New Media world as an  example of “how it’s done” and many of the TOP New Media players are both aware of the Ellis County Observer and appreciative of your work.

As a member of the [5] American Freedomist Network, we are happy to promote this NewsBlog as a shining example of what we mean as we teach people how to set up their own NewsBlog or local BTR news show. We will be nominating the Ellis County Observer for a “SAMMY”, an award given by [6] The Samuel Adams Alliance, for top internet activists and bloggers, citing the impact on ballot initiatives, the investigative journalism, the creation of a local information network, and the large audience of readers from the area.

I have said before, and mean it still, that Ellis County, Texas has the potential of being the Boston of the 21st century! Ellis County is in the forefront for new media journalism and new methods of winning victories against Big Government and the Planned Economy starting LOCALLY, issue by issue, ballot initiative by ballot initiative!

The ECO is also to be used as a “sample NewsBlog” for a November 15, 2008 event inside the PA capital building titled “Citizen Bloggers: How NewsBlogs Can Change The World!”

Participants will learn how the ECO does what it does and why this is the best model for them to follow and will be urged to join the AFN as a local NewsBlog.

The ECO is doing “Yeoman’s Work” in promoting the cause of liberty, freedom, and citizen journalism in general and we applaud the ECO for this work.
