A Freedomist is someone who places the principles of Freedom above ideology or party. The basic idea of Freedomism is best expressed by saying that people who believe that 80% or more of all the decisions and choices that effect their life should be made within a circle that includes everything within around 30 miles of their home.

Freedomism asks the basic question: who decides what? The answer to this question is that most decision-making power, or creative authority, belongs to the individual first and then, in lesser and lesser amounts, to associations of individuals. The level of creative authority the individual shares with others should be greater where the size of the group of smaller, the level of shared belief is greater, and the physical distance between members is smaller.

When a decision has greater effect on the individual or involves deeply held moral or spiritual convictions the creative authority over that decision should be closer to the individual. This means that some decisions should be made by the individual and the smallest types of groups where people live close to each other and share the same beliefs if those decisions involve anything that effects the individual to a great degree or if they involve deeply held moral convictions.

As Freedomists, we are of many types: liberals, conservatives, Democrats, Republicans, independents, Libertarians, Constitutionalists, and more. The question of HOW we use our freedom, or how we choose to govern our own space and our shared space which we choose to share with others, is of less importance than the question of how we manage to get control over that space as free men and women who hold natural, inherent, or God-given civil rights.

We call free men and women who hold (holding by possessing and using) their natural, God-given civil rights “Freeholders”. A Freeholder HOLDS their civil rights and while they may seek some form of mutual support, mutual assurance, or cooperation, they bear the sole responsibility for what they do with those rights.

Freedomists believe that maximum creative authority belongs to Freeholders within their homes, their private associations, and local communities that are relatively small in size and, in general, that include a small territory, and that include individuals who have a similar worldview.

Of course, we agree to disagree about HOW that creative authority will be used, knowing that the people who use that authority will be responsible for whatever consequences come.

Freedomists are “fighting in the streets”, waging an information WAR through local Freedomist NewsBlogs, Freedomist Clubs, and Freedomist Town Meetings acting as a Watchdog, and Advocate, and a Resource for local people who wish to enjoy all the rights and privileges as Freeholders. We are waging a Digital Revolution for a decentralization of power, seeking to replace the “One Big System” (OBS) approach to our society with a “Confederal Union of Free Communities” approach.

I commit myself to act, in whatever capacity is possible, as a Watchdog, as an Advocate, and as a Resource using local, regional, state, and national Freedomist NewsBlogs and other means to inform, persuade, motivate, and organize other Americans until more and more Americans choose to live and act as Freeholders who OWN their life, their private associations, and their local communities instead of letting “One Big System” beyond their control ACT as the owner.

I commit myself to meet with and work with fellow Freeholders within a local, regional, state, or national Freedomist Club, via online and in person means, to mutually assure one another of help and mutual protection in time of crisis, emergency, trouble, or great need and to cooperate and even compete in order to advance the cause of Freedom and the inherent RIGHTS of Freeholders as we become dependent on ourselves, interdependent of people we CHOOSE to associate with, and independent of everyone and everything we CHOOSE not to associate with.

I commit myself to participate in a Freedomist Town Meeting in which all Freeholders, (ALL men and women are Freeholders instead of JUST being taxpayers, employees, and consumers) to debate issues and concern, to address grievances and demand redress, and to issue instructions to DELEGATES (any and all elected or appointed official) which we will, as a group, publish to all Electors and which we will hold them accountable to. I further agree to NOT give any support of any kind, including my vote, to any Delegate who fails to act in accordance to these Instructions To Our Delegates at least 60% to 70% of the time.

I commit myself to all means of peaceful and Constitutional redress of grievances and of assertions of my rights and the protection of the rights, persons, and property of fellow Freedomists and of all Americans to the utmost of my ability using all the resources and assets at hand.
