Organizing for a Better Economy
I am a traditional ‘conservative’, but never an enthusiastic free marketer, though I trust govt even less than I trust corporations, nevermind that we now have the corprocrat- the corporate beurocrat/aristocrat…with no borders to be beholden to…
I struggle with conservatives over green and sustainability…but i too believe they are fundamental…not to love a tree…I hate trees unless I can use them or they look purty…but dang…don’t life look better with a tree? yep. The technologies out there today allow for a level of green urbanization with earthships, have seen green zigurats, designed my own fantasies….but this will not happen if you allow any agent, no matter who they claim they are, to run a large concentration of wealth and power from a removed place…our solutions are many, and geographically, environmentally determined to a large degree….so solutions must be local and have local ownership….
I believe if conservatives knew of progressives who would definitely stand up and proclaim for local sovereignty…with human rights being protected (and I am always for a broader, rather than a narrower term of human rights so long as the broadening of the term won’t be applied to personal values that do not affect the human rights of others)
there could be formed the beginning of a meeting place for American progressives, american liberals, american conservatives to find their American Freedom Principles, their reason for honoring the rule of law, of respecting certain boundaries, whatever we define these boundaries by…
the only fundamental irreconcilable difference lies between the government, or statists who believe that central control IS the answer. If that is your definition…then…at least we would know where we stood with one another
