This trending topic is evidence that the dave letterman-palin issue is not going away, and they’ve even begun to focus on the second joke in question, the spitzer reference, implying Bristol was  a prostitute.  There are a lot of folks out there that simply refuse to let Letterman off the hook this time.  Dave’s major late-night sponsors, like Best Western, are being inundated with the power of the people to speak with their wallets.

6-11-9 World News: Iranian Elections 2009

A-jad v Musavi in Iran is being billed as the reformer versus the wacko racist, but is Musavi a true reformer?  Here is a quote  from an article in CUMINet, “Ahmadinejad is still the hero of many millions of Iranians, and he is supported by significant forces across Iran. Musavi has only recently become the front figure of what is often described as the ‘reformists’, but as I have written earlier, he does not define himself as a reformist - at least not in the Khatamian sense.”

Also from this article, this quote about the underlying unrest connected to this election:
“The Guards claimed that they had tried to overlook ‘wicked actions’ in the past, but that the latest actions were too much to disregard. The Guards were particularly annoyed with Musavi’s claim that there is a developing split between the commanders and the ‘healthy body’ of Basijis and Guards”

Musavi has been a part of the Iranina government in the 80s, at a time when the Iranians were exacting more fascistic control over the people.  His track record on reform?  Apparently he doesn’t have any.  He is a reform candidate, it seems, by default alone, in much the same way that Obama was the reform candidate by default (despite the fact that all of his ‘ideas’ are mired in early 20th century failed progressivism).

If Musavi wins this election, hysterical love bunnies the world over will rush to declare the Iranian threat has disapated, despite these two facts:

1.  The President of Iran has very little real power

2.  Musavi, while he might be as unhinged as A-jad, comes from the same camp as A-jad.  As a matter of fact, a Musavi win may be more dangerous to America than an A-jad, for Musavi just might know how to smile while he aims he nuclear bombs at Israel

Keep coming back to this page throughout the next couple of days for updates on Iranian Elections.
