Instructions for the Free Exercise of Religion Pledge.

Please send or bring this Pledge to your Member of Congress or United States Senator.  (It is OK to email it to your Representative or Senator.  They work for you.) 

Ask them to sign it. 

Then please notify us about what you did by email.  Email national pledge coordinator Bill Collier at [1] upadaria@yahoo.com. 

Then photocopy it, keep a copy for your files, and send the original to

With your name, address, and any anecdotes you would care to share and we will provide some public exposure to your efforts. 

If they refuse to sign or defer signing, please let us know that, and any explanation they might give.

At the beginning of every new Congress, all Congresspeople take the following oath:

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

And the Free Exercise of Religion Pledge is a personal affirmation of verbatim text from the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.  Therefore, there seems to be no compelling reason why any Member of Congress or United States Senator would so much as hesitate to sign the Free Exercise of Religion Pledge.

Once they have signed we will show you how to hold them accountable.
