Washington, 29 October (WashingtonTV)—Pope Benedict XVI on Thursday called on Iran to allow greater religious freedoms for the country’s small Catholic community.

In comments to Iran’s new ambassador to the Vatican, Benedict also urged the Islamic Republic to improve the situation of all Christian minorities, so they are better integrated into society, reports the Associated Press.
