Is Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner a Triumph or a Folly?
http://blogs.hbr.org/cs/2009/12/is_boeings_787_dreamliner_a_tr.html
On Dec. 15, after two-and-a-half years of teeth-gnashing problems and delays that cost Boeing more than $10 billion in contractual penalties, the 787 Dreamliner completed its maiden flight, making aviation history in more ways than one.
With its new composite skin and sculptured structure, it is the most technologically advanced commercial airplane ever. Offering a lighter but stronger and more aerodynamic structure, the 787 is designed to be quieter and more fuel-efficient than other commercial jets, allowing carriers to bypass hubs and whisk many more passengers point to point cheaper, faster, and with new levels of in-flight comfort.

Dark matter holds the key to the universe- the guardian
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/dec/23/dark-matter-key-understanding-universe
We’ve moved a step closer to understanding the nature of dark matter, and thus transforming our knowledge of the cosmos itself
A consensus has emerged that dark matter mostly consists of massive particles coughed out of the big bang. The reason for the appellation “dark” is because, unlike atomic particles, they have no electric charge, so cannot emit or scatter light. Nor do they feel the strong nuclear force that traps protons and neutrons in atomic nuclei. As a result, the dark particles interact so feebly with ordinary matter that they mostly pass right through it.
I Was Wrong About Twitter Lists- from chris brogan
http://ow.ly/OGyI
I originally felt Twitter lists would be really harmful, that people would be upset by not showing up on certain lists. I find that I’m now using five private lists and growing. I have two public lists, too. So far, the world hasn’t ended. And, lists have really helped me tidy up my “views” of Twitter, which is important if you’re following 90,000 folks.
