CD Duplicators- A Web Tech Report

What are CD Duplicators?

Quite simply, CD Duplicators are CD Copiers, burners.  They are generally faster than simply burning a CD from your computer, especially multiple bay machines.

Who needs CD Duplicators?
Any group, company, organization that regularly produces CDs needs professional quality CD Duplicators.  If your organization or company offers a lot of CDs monthly, or even weekly, then you would require multiple bay machines.

What are Autoloaders and why would you need that service?

CD Duplicators- Autoloaders-

To transfer recordable media from one unattended duplicator to the next, you need to have an autoloader feature on your CD Duplicator.  The two main ways to transfer that recordable media are:

PC Connect Requires a PC to operate the system

Standalone- requires no PC- more portable, less operator presence

For companies and organizations that offer multiple CD products, this feature is essential.  For companies and organizations that have little variation in product (a company that produces one unique CD product a month may not need an autoloader feature, but one that offers multiple unique CD products would).

Do you need a CD Duplication with a hard drive?

If you are going to make long “duplication runs” of the same message (or music recording), then having a hard drive on your CD duplicator will allow you to store the message on the hard drive, and produce copies faster than CD to CD duplication.
However, if you are primarily making smaller “duplication runs” (up to 6 in a row) or making your CD messages available immediately after every service (Take-Along-CDs™), then CD to CD duplication is easier (because you don’t have to load your master recording onto your hard drive), faster (because loading the hard drive takes about 5 minutes at the start of your duplication run), and will save you a few dollars on equipment.

My advice is to invest in a CD duplicator with a hard drive if at all possible. In long “duplication runs” it will save you time and reduce wear of your master CDs.
In smaller “duplication runs” you don’t have to use the hard drive. You’ll still be able to make the faster CD to CD copies and have all the versatility of hard drive to CD duplication.

Finding Funds for your Duplicator

http://www.kingdom.com/kb_results.asp?ID=17

We all want to be wise in what we do. While a duplicator necessitates an initial investment, the return will be very high in many areas, including finances, church growth and spiritual growth.

Here’s how:
1. Making CD (or DVD) copies of the weekly messages will help people remember and apply more.

A high-speed CD or DVD duplicator will enable you to make many copies of your services available immediately after the service ends. This way people can take multiple copies with them to listen to again, and to hand out to people they think need to hear the message.
Psalm 119:9, 11 says “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word… Your word have I hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!” (NKJV)

When people listen to something again within 48 hours of first hearing it, they will remember an amazing amount more! If tested 6 months later, they will remember 5 times as much as people who did not listen to it a second time. And as more is remembered, it will come to mind much quicker and be easier to apply. After all, you can’t apply something in your life unless you can remember it.

Many churches tell us that recording and giving out CD copies of the weekly message right after the service has transformed their ministry. “I feel privileged, honored, and blessed that God would even use these messages and distribute them in the way that He has,” shared Pastor Russell Cotnoir from Fayette Baptist Church. “If it hadn’t been for the media ministry, the sermons would just basically end right here after the service. And so we’re encouraged with that and extremely, extremely excited about how God’s using them.”

2. Making CD (or DVD) copies of the weekly message will grow your church.
When Fayette Baptist Church first started their ministry of recording messages, a friend of Pastor Cotnoir’s had told him, “You know, you put 40 hours a week into each sermon – it needs to be used more than just once. You put that much time and effort into your messages – there’s a lot more that can be done with them than to just preach them once on Sunday morning.” In addition, people in the church were asking for copies of the messages to give to friends and family. They wanted to take God’s life-changing Word and share with others.
Messages-To-Go™ provides a tool that makes it easy for anyone to share their faith –you just need to be able to give away a CD!

Another church in Florida shared how their Messages-To-Go™ (making copies of the message available for people to take immediately after each service) ministry helped people grow in evangelism. Prior to the Messages-To-Go™ ministry, only a few people were actively sharing their faith. Now, because of the Messages-To-Go™ ministry, more than 85% of the church has shared their faith with non-Christians and a large number are actively reaching the lost on a regular basis.
In addition to making the weekly services available on CD, you can also record special events, youth services, weddings, and more!

3. Making CD (or DVD) copies of the messages can grow your finances
While some churches charge a specific amount for each CD copy, many churches have found that simply asking for a suggested donation of $2-$3 per CD can be more effective. Some people may not be able to give the entire amount, while someone else may pick up a copy of the message and give $20. In the end, most churches have found that the donations received often pay for everything, and sometimes there is extra available so they are able to help fund other ministries as well!

Creative tips for funding your media ministry:
1. Ask your church! A few weeks in advance, begin sharing the vision with your church for the duplicator and media ministry. Share your goals, as well as the vision for the ministry. Share stories of what is happening in other churches due to the media ministry. Then, ask people to pray about what they should do/ how much they can give to help fund the ministry. You can take an offering over the next few weeks, or announce that there will be a special offering taken on a certain date.
